SSA, as the managing partner of Studio Collaboration LLC, completed construction of the APS Professional Development Center, a 47,000 SF training and conference center for APS staff and the greater Albuquerque community.

The programmatic core of the PDC provides a large central meeting space for 500 people flanked by nine break-out rooms, a commissary, courtyard, and wide, flexible concourses serving as galleries and gathering spaces. The large meeting space is modeled after the internal community town square or plaza where a multitude of events, conversation, and activities can occur simultaneously. The centralized space contains a stage, a multi-media control booth for audio/visual presentations.

Additional considerations include tunable acoustics, controlled daylighting, and views to the courtyard and Sandia mountains. This project is certified LEED Gold and recieved the AIA Albuquerque Merit Award (General Design) in 2020.
