WNMU Early Childhood Program

The first building for the early childhood program within the WNMU center of Excellence will create an “Outdoor Haven” for learning and community engagement, supporting WNMU’s growing early childhood education program. Designed in a contemporary evolution of the historic mission style, it features rusted steel and sand colored CMU that enhances the natural site. The project serves as a teaching tool, by integrating education into its architecture and landscape.

The project features a 12,000 GSF building with 5 classrooms for children from ages 1-10, teacher spaces, an outdoor common space, playgrounds, and accessible bike trails connecting to the surrounding neighborhood. The facility will support childcare, family counseling, professional development, and teacher preparation, fostering education and community engagement.
